DEPARTMENT OF DATA SCIENCE

The Department of Data Science at IISER Pune explores theoretical and methodological aspects of data-driven inquiry across scientific disciplines. The department’s academic offerings emphasize both conceptual understanding and computational practice, preparing students to engage with large-scale, heterogeneous data in both research and applied contexts. Faculty and students pursue projects spanning machine learning, statistical modeling, network science, computational biology, data-driven weather and climate modeling, and data-intensive physics, among other areas.
